UiPath Press Release
May 20, 2020
UiPath, leading enterprise Robotic Process Automation (RPA) software company, is preparing 230 tour operator FTI GROUP employees for the automated workplace of the future. With the free online training program for beginners Reboot Your Skills, participants get basic RPA knowledge and learn how to develop their own software robot to take over repetitive tedious office tasks.
In the tourism industry in particular many processes are still carried out manually. This includes, for example, thousands of different hotel contracts, in which not all details or information can be mapped in the systems and therefore have to be entered by hand. This makes the registration process slow and inefficient.
The FTI GROUP started to automate their first processes in both product and revenue streams using RPA in June 2019, and to develop their own software robots that take on rules-based repetitive processes. Shortly afterwards, the group expanded its RPA implementations into additional areas such as aviation, finance and service. At this time, a separate central Center of Excellence (CoE) was created, which, in collaboration with other decentralized CoEs in various areas, automates processes across the world. The aim is to further digitize the company's processes and relieve a burden from the employees so that they can concentrate on value-added tasks.
After UiPath introduced the program to the FTI GROUP managers, 2,000 employees in the DACH region and the Netherlands were immediately informed about the opportunity of training. Over 230 employees registered for the online training and are currently taking part.
The goal of the travel operator is to create more understanding of automation and software robots within the company and to become faster with its digitization initiative. The UiPath Automation Hub is going to be used to help find additional processes that can be automated across departments in order to create resources for more valuable tasks.
Delivered in English, Reboot Your Skills is teaching participants to develop their own software robots and consists of interactive learning modules including videos, graphics, and practical course units. Additionally, there are live conversations and online tutorials with UiPath experts, the UiPath MVPs (Most Valuable Professionals), and the UiPath community at large. Within four weeks and with a time investment of around 16 hours, the participants learn the basics and how to build their first personal software robots. The participants will receive a certificate at the end of the training.
No previous knowledge of the software is required for the online course. The operating system participants work with must be Windows.
The different systems of the many providers in the tourism industry are a challenge for us when we look at making processes efficient and lean. Software robots, which also partially automate processes, enable us to focus our employees fully on their actual tasks. In addition to reducing the amount of work involved, this also makes it possible to achieve customer service improvements, since many of these tasks have often been neglected. When we offered the UiPath training to our employees, we didn't expect such great interest. We are pleased they are interested and this is helping to make the whole company fitter for the future.
Torsten Lampe, COO of the FTI GROUP
There is automation potential in every company - regardless of the industry. Our online program makes our vision 'a robot for every employee' come to life quicker than may have been anticipated. The great response to the FTI GROUP shows that we have hit a nerve with both company and employees. Together we can free employees from monotonous tasks and give them time for more valuable work.
