Work smarter with Gen AI and application connectors

Introduction

Easily integrating Generative AI capabilities into new, or preexisting processes, is proving to be automation’s next big accelerator.

By deploying generative models into automated workflows—such as GPT 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0, Falcon-40B, and PaLM2—organizations can generate text and image content for sales, marketing, social media, customer support, and a myriad of other use cases.  Prebuilt AI connectors are key to providing direct access to the above large language models (LLM). Thus, Gen AI integration powers new automation opportunities, as well as driving AI’s potential into actionable business results.

Feel free to register for the FORWARD VI "Best Bits"to understand how automation is enabling companies and UiPath customers to realize true value from AI.

Gen AI is increasingly pervasive in automation and with good reason. Like other automation use cases, we are discovering new ways of introducing AI into automation and how to continuously refine and build on its success.     Consider, for example, this AI-driven candidate review process.

Multiple Gen AI use cases are threaded through this one process (note the AI use cases highlighted in light gray). Here, AI is helping the talent acquisition team reach a hiring decision by reducing manual research, automatically summarizing key points, and maintaining recruitment communication streams.

Let’s note, as well, that the entire workflow above with its seven Gen AI use cases, is supported by a single UiPath Azure OpenAI connector.

UiPath Integration Service provides a growing number of prebuilt Generative AI connectors that can interact with API-based business connectors housed in the Integration Service connector catalog. Centers of excellence (CoEs) members, RPA planners, and citizen developers can quickly select various connectors to build AI-infused workflows in UiPath Studio Web, or Studio.

Examples of AI-driven automated business workflows

Highly effective, AI-driven automation, via a Gen AI connector, can be both simple and complex. The enormous art of the possible—and everything in between.

  1. Summarize Zoom recordings

Eliminate the time needed to edit, correct, and make sense of Zoom transcriptions. Using the Azure OpenAI Connector, your Zoom recording transcripts are automatically summarized. You’ll have the opportunity to review the summary and then use the same connector for automatically generating an email (via Microsoft Outlook 365) to send the polished summary to team members.

  2. Automate new email campaigns

Marketers can now reduce the setup time for numerous email campaigns. With the AI and SendGrid connectors, you can quickly build a workflow that streamlines crucial email tasks, including AI-based text completion to quickly write the outgoing message.

  3. Accelerating recruitment

Consolidate, through an automated workflow, the multiple and repetitive steps for reviewing new job candidates. Workday (via its connector) can trigger a candidate search. Extracting resume information from UiPath Document Understanding, the Google Vertex AI connector can be used to summarize information about a candidate’s experience and generate a Slack message—based on the summary—to be shared and reviewed by the hiring committee.
